National Electronic Mass Media Council of Latvia
The National Electronic Mass Media Council (NEPLP) is an independent, full-fledged autonomous institution that represents public interests in the field of electronic media in accordance with its competence. NEPLP monitors that the Constitution of the Republic of Latvia, the Electronic Mass Media Law and other regulatory acts are observed in operation of electronic mass media. NEPLP is a derivative public entity.
NEPLP operates in accordance with the requirements of the Constitution of the Republic of Latvia, the Electronic Mass Media Law and other regulatory acts.
The necessary funding for the performance of the functions of NEPLP is allocated from the state budget. NEPLP budget request cannot be amended until the draft budget law is submitted to the Cabinet without coordination with NEPLP.
